Your canoe journey will be a unique opportunity to discover the wonders of the Jacques-Cartier National Park. As you glide on the river’s waters, you’ll also have the chance to learn the basics of canoeing, whether you’re an enthusiastic beginner or an experienced paddler. A world of joy awaits!

For the start of the adventure, you can choose to take our comfortable shuttle from downtown Quebec, or, if you prefer, meet your guide directly at the Jacques-Cartier National Park. Once there, you’ll pick up all the necessary equipment for your expedition, with advice tailored to your level. Then, your kind guide will transport you upstream, setting the stage for this unforgettable journey.

The descent of the Jacques-Cartier River is an exhilarating experience, alternating between calm sections where you can admire the surrounding wildlife and flora, and thrilling rapids that will get your adrenaline pumping. Along the way, you may encounter some portage sections, depending on the water levels that fluctuate with the seasons.

After a day full of exploration and effort, you’ll finally reach your campsite. Your skilled guide will delight in preparing a delicious, carefully crafted meal to satisfy your taste buds. Itinerary
DAY 1: Transportation and Canoeing

Departure from Quebec City in the morning at 8am from the Tourist Information Center towards the Jacques-Cartier National Park or go directly to the nautical center of the park at 9am. Meet your guide at reception to collect canoe and camping equipment. Once everything is ready, we will head north from the park to reach the starting point on the river.
After loading the canoes, we will go on the river to initiate canoe movement techniques on calm water and a little speed. Then we went down the river to our campsite for the night.

Route : 1h from Quebec City – 45min in the park
Canoeing : 15 km
Accommodation : camping

DAY 2: Canoeing and return

After a good lunch, it’s time to board your canoe and descend the second half of the river to reach the end of the canoe section of the park. Back in the afternoon to the nautical center to store the equipment and then return to Quebec City by bus.

Route : 15min in the park – 1h to Quebec City

Equipment and food
Group equipment and food will be shared between participants’canoes and guides. If you use your own equipment, we will check with you if everything is complete.
Shuttle bus
Our summer activities include free transportation from Old Quebec. At the time of your reservation, a seat is automatically reserved in the shuttle. The departure is at 9am at the Place d’Armes or at 9:15am at the Gare du Palais.

Weather
We think there is no bad weather for canoeing. The activity always takes place. In case of situation with a lot of rain, risk of thunderstorms or too much flow, the activity can be transferred.

The final decision to cancel in case of bad weather is the responsibility of the guide or the administration of Quatre Natures.

Booking Policies

When booking, a 30% deposit must be paid by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express). The balance of payment will be made 30 days before your activity.

In case of cancellation made more than 60 days before the date of your activity, your reservation will be refunded 100%. Between 59 days and 30 days before the date of your activity, 70% of the total amount will be refunded to you. No refund for a cancellation less than 30 days before your activity.

Changing a reservation : Any changes must be made by email or telephone and are subject to availability. Please contact us at reservation@quatrenatures.com or 418 271-7234.

Weather : The decision to cancel in case of bad weather is the responsibility of the guide or the administration of Quatre Natures. Under no circumstances the customer can cancel and have a refund if he does not like the weather.
