A short three-day expedition through the Jacques-Cartier National Park on nordic backcountry skiing. The marked but untracked trail crosses the most beautiful sectors and peaks of the park. In a natural and wild environment, an ideal trip for nordic hiking, supervised by a professional guide.

Itinerary

DAY 1 : Transportation and skiing
Departure by minibus from Quebec City and / or Montreal in the morning to Jacques-Cartier National Park. The first kilometers will allow you to appropriately understand the equipment and the technique of displacement. We will follow the path towards the sector of the Voie du Bucheron, one of the most beautiful route of the park. In the late afternoon, head to our refuge for supper and night.

Skiing : 20 km
Bus : 40min from Québec City – 3h from Montréal
Accommodation : Balbuzard refuge

DAY 2 : Skiing
A full day of nordic skiing in the Rivière à l’Épaule area. In the late afternoon, arrive at our refuge for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation : Cachée refuge

DAY 3 : Skiing and back
The next morning, after a good breakfast, we follow the Jacques-Cartier River for our return to the starting point of the first day. Transportation back at the end of the afternoon.

Equipment and food
Group equipment and food will be transported by snowmobile between shelters. Plan a backpack (maximum 40L) that can hold your day’s effects and comfortable enough to wear it all day.
Transportation
The departure is in Quebec City and / or Montreal with a 12-passenger vehicle. Possibility of taking you on the way. You can also go on your own instead of the activity. If you make your transportation, we offer you 5% discount, to ask when you book.
Weather
We think there is no bad weather in winter. The activity always takes place. In situations where the temperature is extreme (-40 C⁰) or the amount of snow is not adequate, the activity will be transferred. The final decision to cancel in case of bad weather is the responsibility of the guide or the administration of Quatre Natures.

Booking Policy

Upon reservation, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total amount of the invoice will be required. You must make this deposit by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express). If you cancel your reservation, we will only keep the non-refundable deposit.

Any changes must be made by phone or e-mail and subject to availability. You can cancel or change your reservation up to 30 days before the start of the activity. If you cancel your reservation more than 30 days in advance, we will only keep the non-refundable deposit. If a cancellation is made less than 30 days before the start of the activity, an amount equivalent to the total value of the activity will be debited. Possibility of transferring the amount for another activity in the calendar year.
