Itinerary

DAY 1: Transportation

Depart from Quebec City or Montreal early in the morning to allow ample time for preparations upon arrival. We should reach the launch site by late afternoon. Once there, we will finalize the last details for the expedition.

Travel Time: 8 hours from Quebec City – 6 hours from Montreal
Accommodation: Camping

DAYS 2 to 6: River Descent

Introduction to the gear, safety instructions, and an overview of packrafting. Begin the descent with Class II and III rapids, perfect for getting comfortable with the packraft. Navigate through stunning landscapes of forests and cliffs. Each evening, set up camp on a secluded beach to enjoy the sunset surrounded by nature.

Packrafting: 12 to 20 km per day
Accommodation: Camping

DAY 7: Return Transportation

After a hearty breakfast, paddle the final stretch of the river to reach the take-out point on the Ottawa River by late morning. Then, head back to Montreal and Quebec City in the comfort of our minibus.

Travel Time: 6 hours to Quebec City – 4 hours to Montreal

THE PACKAGE INCLUDES

  • Guidance by an adventure guide
  • Packraft equipment: single inflatable kayak, paddle, mandatory safety gear, 50L dry bag
  • Kayak clothing: waterproof jacket and water shoes
  • Camping equipment (if needed): tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, sleeping bag liner
  • Group equipment: kitchen supplies, stove, shelter, satellite phone, etc.
  • Camping accommodation
  • All meals (except at restaurants)
  • Round-trip transportation from Quebec City or Montreal

Equipment and Food

Group equipment and food will be shared between the participants’ and guides’ packrafts. Space is limited, so it is recommended to avoid excess items and use lightweight gear.

Transportation

Departure is from Quebec City and/or Montreal with a 15-passenger vehicle. It is possible to pick you up along the way. You may also choose to make your own way to the activity location.

Weather

We believe that there is no bad weather for packrafting. The activity will always take place. In the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or excessively low water levels, the activity may be rescheduled. The final decision to cancel due to bad weather rests with the guide or the administration of Quatre Natures.

Booking Policies

When booking, a 30% deposit must be paid by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or American Express). The balance of payment will be made 30 days before your activity.

In case of cancellation made more than 60 days before the date of your activity, your reservation will be refunded 100%. Between 59 days and 30 days before the date of your activity, 70% of the total amount will be refunded to you. No refund for a cancellation less than 30 days before your activity.

Changing a reservation : Any changes must be made by email or telephone and are subject to availability. Please contact us at reservation@quatrenatures.com or 418 271-7234.

Weather : The decision to cancel in case of bad weather is the responsibility of the guide or the administration of Quatre Natures. Under no circumstances the customer can cancel and have a refund if he does not like the weather.
